I’m resting now, taking a break, trying to have a kickback weekend until I go on call. My dear, dear friend (Di) from college (NE) just came out to spend a week with me, my husband, and friends. It was great, a fantastic event, whew….
I didn’t think it was possible to do so much in so little time. Now I’m doing my best at trying to get my bearings about me. And by the way, for the first time in my life, I have been called “whitey”. By a cornhusker no less. For the first time in my life, I am paler. Now this girl, this friend of mine, is intelligent, witty, funny, beautiful, but usually a little more on the fair side , maybe even a little whitish, but never tan. Not like me. I am the girl with the Asian mother, frequently questioned about where I’m from. Hawaii, Mexico, Phillipines, no, not this time though. She got off the plane (from NE, mind you), and I there she stood. I saw her, looking for her luggage at the baggage claim. She looked Great! Radiant, healthy, and TAN. I was in shock, disbelief. I felt confused, a little light-headed. I was standing there smiling, thinking, wondering, what happened? Wow? What do I do? Did I miss something here? Have I done something wrong? Can I fix this? So needless to say, I spent the majority of the week either on the Beach, or by the pool, trying to get darker than her…Hi all, this is Alvin again. SWSRN asked me to post something here to let you all know that she is doing well, but is very busy at the moment. She did have a reaction to her flu shot earlier this week, but all is well now.
I’ve mentioned my lovely fiance several times on my podcast (xml), and the result has been an increase of traffic here at SWSRN.com. In the past 3 days alone, an estimated 75 people have downloaded my most recent podcast.
Leave your comments below, and have a great day.
Alvin…
I don’t like this stuff.
He says write honey, write whatever you want, it’s all yours, say what you want to say. I write and write and write, I tell you all about my beautiful sister, and her wonderful children, the ones you can see on the site, and poof, it’s gone, like I never wrote anything. Then my oh so wonderful fiance tells me, honey, it’s because you’re on dial-up, this wouldn’t happen if you were on my system. and I say, oh yes, you’re right my darling. Now I understand, and I see the light. Well thank you honey, I know that soon we will be together as one, so this too, will be a non-issue. Oh, how fortunate I am. later everyone. pleasant dreams.
